What is Techturized?
Techturized Inc. is a hair care technology company that creates innovative solutions to solve the hair care needs of women of color. Myavana, Techturized’s first brand, is your go-to source for hair. Madame You is for all women of color and hair textures (natural, relaxed, transitioning, extensions). Women can share hair journeys and receive a personal selection of styles and products that work for their hair type and lifestyle. Madame You is still in development and is open to feedback as we are preparing for our official launch in Spring 2013. Who is behind Techturized?
Four female engineers on a mission to transform the hair industry through science and technology founded Techturized Inc. in 2012. Founders Candace Mitchell, Chanel Martin, Joy Buolamwini, and Jess Watson (l-r), all have unique hair experiences but shared a common problem of finding products and styles that personally worked for them. After joining forces and combining their chemical engineering and computer science talents, the four engineers created a solution, a hair care technology company that incorporates science and technology to revolutionize the way women interact with their hair, information, and each other. The team is excited about Myavana, the first brand of Techturized Inc. that aims to give women a personalized hair care experience.

2012 Was Great but 2013 Will Be Even Better
December 2012 was Techturized’s half birthday and they had a lot to celebrate! In just 6 months, Techturized was an exhibitor at two of the largest Black hair shows in the U.S. (Bronner Brothers International Hair Show & Taliah Waajid’s World Natural Hair Show), graduated as the first all Black female-led company from Georgia Tech’s start-up accelerator Flashpoint, gave back to Black Girls Code, piloted an in-store concept with Carol’s Daughter and CurlBox, and released their first brand, Myavana.

In 2013 you can look forward to Techturized’s official launch of Myavana, shopping on Madame You, and a mobile app to access Madame You on the go.
