My name is Dominique Payne and I’m from Memphis, TN. I have naturally curly hair, but I’ve been wearing my hair in its natural state since around Sept. 2011. Like most curly haired girls, my hair suffered due to heat damage and because of that I wanted to restore my hair’s health.
The two main product brands I use on my hair are DevaCurl and Shea Moisture. I honestly cannot live without them! These products have been my hair savior in the process of going from heat damaged curls to healthy, restored curls.
My hair regimen is simple. I wash my hair every 2 weeks with DevaCurl No-Poo and co-wash in-between and condition with DevaCurl One Condition. I like to use Dr. Bronner’s coconut oil for finger-detangling as well as a deep conditioner along with Shea Moisture’s Restorative Conditioner.
I love being a natural for lots of reasons. What I love the most about being a natural is that it gives me so much freedom. Instead of trying to control my hair with hair “fryers” like blow dryers and curling irons, I let my hair do its own thing. I don’t really do much to my hair as far as styling. It’s either down or in a bun. Wash and go’s are my best friend! I like my hair BIG and wild. “Curly hair don’t care!” is my motto!
