TaJuanna from Carisma Designs shared her reasons behind starting her company with me.
“Here’s the short version: I’ve always had an obsession with art…especially wearable art. Carisma Designs evolved after graduating college during a period of unemployment. Amongst overcoming various other challenges, I asked God to give me something that will take me away from the stress and pain of the circumstances that I was dealing with. Within days, I discovered the gift of jewelry design. Creating jewelry and accessories gave me such peace and joy and, at that time, a budget friendly resolution as it was not a priority to shop of spend what little savings I had frivolously. So, I honestly believe I was granted the gift of jewelry design, not only to uplift self, but to also utilize my gift as a platform to empower and inspire others.”
I then asked if she’d mind sharing her goals for her business with my readers…
“I don’t mind sharing at all. I have a goal for Carisma Designs to grow from being just a jewelry and accessory company to having a lifestyle achievement agency. Often, I’m asked to speak, interact, and counsel teenagers and adults about following/pursuing a passion; about turning a hobby into a bankable opportunity. It’s always amazing to me how many people think it impossible to earn income by simply doing something they really enjoy; especially when what they enjoy helps positively impact the lives of others. It’s possible. It’s very possible. I’m a living testimony.”
Her advice for those wanting to live out her passion is to “‘Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.’ ~Martin Luther King, Jr.”
Does she make custom orders you ask??
“Yes, YES, YeS! I absolutely LOVE fulfilling custom orders. It is the greatest reward to take another person’s idea and make it their reality. Custom orders bring an element of surprise and challenge to jewelry design that I have not found in any other task or position I’ve held. Custom orders require a great deal of research, technique, and confidence to complete the job. Fulfilling custom orders allows me to grow as a designer, becoming more intelligent and skilled as I overcome each challenge.”
^^I bought these!!
